What's going on in Brock's world??

Well... aside from just finding out that he is going to have a baby sister, our little man is going to be turining ONE in just a few weeks... waaaa! I cannot believe it!

This little man is amazing! He officially can say the following words:

Daddy
Mamma
Dog
Baby

He can make the following animal sounds:

Bark - like a dog
Roar - lik a lion

He knows/understands the following in English and Spanish:

Where is your milk?/Donde esta tu leche?
Where is your water?/Donde esta tu agua?

And variations of those, like do you want milk or water.

He recently picked up how to say "Thank you!" But of course only mamma and daddy can understand it. It is really cute!

He knows what hello/hola and bye-bye/adios mean and he totally waves!

He's still not walking, but just in the last 2 days or so is getting more and more comfortable with standing unassisted.

In terms of teeth, He still has only his bottom two teeth, but just yesterday morning I could see a little white poking through his gums of one of his top front teeth! So within a few days he will have 3 teeth!

His hair is getting so light! Its almost blonde underneath with light brown on top. Spike had blonde hair until he was like 5 or something, and his mom and sister both have blonde hair! So I wouldn't be surprised if Brock gets blonde hair :-)

Lets see... what else is going on over here???

We're taking him on his 1st plane ride NEXT WEEK!!! We're going to Arizona to visit my sister :-) I am sooooo excited. I really hope he behaves on the plane and we are prepared enough to keep him entertained!

Ok, that's all I can think of at the moment! My computer has been getting fixed over the last week, so when I get it this weekend I will try to post some new pictures up here for you!

IT'S A.....

GIRL!!!!!!!

We had our growth ultra sound today to make sure the baby's organs and bones were developing appropriately. As a bonus, we got to find out the baby's sex!

I was completely convinced that this new baby was going to be another boy! Boy was I wrong! She is CLEARLY a girl :-)

Spike and I are still in disbelief! It is so crazy! He's a little nervous about it, but I think he'll get used to the idea ;-)

We've been tossing names around all day and can't seem to agree on anything. Its going to be a long 4 months deciding on a name!

Brock was with us today at the ultra sound and got to hear the baby's heart beat. He was so confused trying to figure out where the noise was coming from! Afterwards he started clapping ;-) It was so cute!

My mom and I went shopping tonight and got the baby a few outfits! Shopping for little girls clothes is sooooo fun! Super cute clothes!

When mom and I got home from the store, she showed Spike the cute clothes she bought. Spike seemed to get excited and started telling us that he has decided we are going to do a "Disney Princess" theme for her room! I don't get a says-so! He said she's going to have a closet full of princess dresses :-) I'm going to be in trouble! LOL! He said there is going to be so much pink in her room its going to look like someone puked pepto bismol! LOL! Hopefully I can keep that somewhat under control!

I'm going to scan some of the ultra sound pictures over the weekend and hopefully get them on here!

Wiggity Wiggity Wiggity Whack!

LOL! Spike beatboxes to Brock every night. It's their "thing." It is super cute because Brock now responds back with his own beat!

Well the other day, it was just Brock and I. I grabbed the camera and was trying to get him to wave and say "tata." We're going to Arizona in 2 weeks (OMG!!!) to visit my sister, who all the kids call "tata." Well, here's the message he wanted to send her:

Lenna's baptism

This afternoon, my sister and her husband had their daughter baptized! It was a beautiful ceremony and Lenna was gorgeous! A little back history real quick about the baptismal gown... We had one that was in the family for years, but after my nephew's baptism the gown went missing... On a trip to Chicago a few years ago, my mom went with me to evaluate a Graduate program. We went shopping on the Magnificent Mile and found this little Christian store. So we went in and found a beautiful baptismal gown. The funny thing about it, was that we didn't know that the original gown was missing, but my mom loved the new gown, so she bought it! At that time, she only had 2 grand kids. So she bought it, knowing that she would of course have MORE... Here we are 6 1/2 grandkids later! LOL. Anyway, so Lenna is wearing the gown that 2 of her cousins, plus her brother wore for their baptisms. My Aunt recently embroidered the lining of the gown with all of the kids' names and their baptismal dates. It came out so cute... and I just realized that I forgot to take a picture of it! Doh!

Anyway, so on with Lenna's beautiful day!

Brock kept tossing his pacifier into the book holder

He found it!

I couldn't get a better picture of Brock's outfit, but I love his new loafers!
The cake that my mom made for Lenna

Cider Mill 2009... visit #1!

I say visit #1 because I have at least 2 more trips planned for the season :-) Oh how I love Michigan in the Fall!!! Anyway, yesterday morning when Spike got home from work we took Brock to the cider mill! I was terrified that he would get stung by a bee, but humans were far from the minds of those bees. All they wanted was cider and doughnuts!
Apples being sorted

Daddy trying to get Brock to take a sip of cider... didn't happen! Had to put it into his sippy cup!

Brock getting his first taste of a spiced doughnut...

Do you think he liked it? Right after this picture he ripped it right out of my hand and shoved a piece in his mouth! LOL

Holy baby bump! I went to bed Friday night with some bad muscle pains around my belly... woke up and had that big ole bump!

Happy Family!

My little clown!

Thanks for viewing!

More Labor Day pictures!

Brock with Grandma Sherry

Aunt Dawn giving Brock some licorice

Brock rockin' the mohawk!

He could barely move in this life jacket!

Ok, so before we left, Spike & I bought this new board game. Its called Qwelf and is by far the best family game EVER! We had sooooo much fun playing it! Here are some pictures from the game!
Poor Wendy! She had to wear this mask for most of the game!

Poor Mark! Had to put ice cubes down his pants til he rolled a 6... or maybe it was a 3... either way it was hilarious!

LOL! Wendy drew a card where she had to fit as many items in her shirt as she could in 10 seconds! She got 18 things in there! Not bad :-)

Mark had to hold his hands on his head until his next turn. He had to read me my trivia card like this!

Sassy Pants drew a card where she had to play armless until she drew a new action card... never happened! Then she drew a talking card where she had to repeat everything she said twice! It was hilarious!

Brock with my mom! I think she is the love of his life ;-) He gets so excited when he's with her!

Getting his first taste of ice cream! He loved it! He also got some from Aunt Dawn and Aunt Wendy!

Grandpa Russ was talking like Donald Duck! Brock LOVES it! He even tries to do it himself!

Probably my favorite picture of the whole weekend!

I forgot to explain "Sassy Pants" & "Butter Cup." When we played our first game of Qwelf, Stephanie's friend Brittney drew a card that said each player had to give the person to their right a nickname of endearment... So, I was "Honey", Spike's mom was "Sweet Cheeks", Spike was "Bunny", Wendy was "Sugar Pie", Mark was "Lover", Stephanie was "Sassy Pants", and Brittney was "Butter Cup." This card was in effect for the entire game! If anyone referred to another person by their real names or anything other than their new nickname, they were penalized and had to move back 2 spaces... Along with that, Sassy Pants drew a card that said if anyone had to move their piece backwards, she would have to say the following, "Serves you right Captain Poopy Pants!" LOL! It was great!

Labor Day Weekend!

Our Labor Day weekend was jam-packed with lots of fun! It started with our annual trip to Monticello, KY (which is an 8 hour drive). We rent a houseboat every labor day weekend and cruise around Lake Cumberland.

We weren't able to go last year because I was about 36 weeks pregnant with Brock. My OB gave me strict orders to stay home last year. We were soooo bummed. Now that I'm pregnant again, the 1st thing I asked my doctor was if I could go to the houseboat this year! She said yes, because I was still early on in my pregnancy :-)

Brock was AMAZING in the car on the way there and back! You wouldn't have known there was a 10-month old in the back seat! He kept himself completely entertained the whole ride. All he had with him in the back seat was his Handy Manny doll. He just enjoyed the ride!

Anyway, here are a bunch of pictures of our vacation!

Ok, I'm going to take a break from uploading the pictures. I will add some more later... Lots of fun pictures to come!!

16 Week Check-up

So I had my 16 Week check up this morning for baby #2! It was a very scary appointment. My emotions were all over the place! In a matter of 5 minutes, I almost bawled & puked in fear and then almost bawled & puked in relief! Today's appointment was to hear the baby's heartbeat for the first time. She put the doppler on my belly and started moving it around to find the baby's heartbeat. Well... she looked for a good 5 minutes and couldn't find anything! I was terrified. I didn't know what to do or say. I was a complete mute just laying there staring at my doctor hoping she could make everything better. Then she goes, "Well I can't find anything... we need to get the abdominal ultrasound in here..." OMG. I couldn't stop praying that something was just wrong with the doppler. I kept praying that God wouldn't do this to me. She rang the bell for the assistant to bring in the ultrasound machine. A minute or two later, WE GOT A HEARTBEAT! All I could say was, OMG THANK YOU JESUS!!! I was like, "that was so scary!" We didn't even have to use the ultrasound machine. The doctor kept saying that she could hear the baby moving around but was just having a very difficult time finding its heartbeat. I told her about the sciatic nerve pain that I had been having and she said that since it was so hard to find the heartbeat (she had to have the doppler in a weird angle) she said it is very likely that my uterus is tilted backwards a bit and could be putting pressure on that nerve. So hopefully my uterus decides to right itself to relive that sciatic nerve because sometimes the pain stops me dead in my tracks!

My next appointment is for September 29th! I go in for my 20 week check up and the Growth Ultrasound. This ultrasound is two-fold. The first part of it is to make sure the baby's internal organs are all developing and there aren't any abnormalities. The second is to learn the sex of the baby! I still haven't decided if I want to know or not. I keep going back and forth. A part of me really wants to know because I feel like I had a special bond with Brock after I found out what he was. It was cool knowing his name and being able to talk about him. Another part of me wants to experience not knowing! I don't know! I'm sure I'll end up finding out because I'm too big of a control freak not to. I mean, how am I going to decorate the room!? What outfit is he/she going to come home in? Ahhh! We'll see :-)
