Just checking in...

Hey all -

Sorry I haven't posted in a few weeks. I haven't been feeling well, and any free time that I get I'm either sleeping or spending time with Brock.

I can't remember if I posted Brock's stats from his 9 months appt or not, but here ya go:

Height: 29 inches (95th percentile)
Weight: 19lbs... (25th percentile) - the doctor didn't think I was feeding him! But boy is she wrong! Brock LOVES food!! He just can't stay still ever since he figured out how to crawl and pull himself up onto things. So cute.

Anyway, like I mentioned above, I haven't been feeling well. For the last 3 weeks or so, I have been extremely short of breath. I notice it most when I am talking, reading Brock a bedtime story, or even just picking him up. It's emotionally hard on me because I feel like its taking away from my enjoyment of my son at the moment. I struggle just singing songs to him. Its so frustrating.

Well due to a pre-existing heart condition that I have, I contacted my Cardiologist to let him know how I have been feeling. I told him that I was pretty sure it was just my asthma getting worse and it was likely due to the pregnancy... well he thought different and had me in the following day for an echo of my heart. This was done last Friday. I still haven't heard from him, so I'm just assuming everything is fine... I hope!

On Tuesday this week, I went to see the Pulmonary physician that had treated me for my mild asthma like 3 or 4 years ago. He told me that it was very likely that my asthma could be getting worse because of the pregnancy. He prescribed me a new inhaler and scheduled me for a pulmonary function test, which is next Wednesday.

Next Tuesday I have my 12 week check up at the OB's office to check on baby #2. We'll get an ultrasound to make sure things are developing appropriately and then the regular check up.

Happy Monthday sweet cheeks!

WOW! So close to the one-year mark... can't believe it!

So this last few weeks, our little man has:

- cut 2 teeth
- crawled out of his exersaucer (lol)
- started pulling up on furniture
- walking along the couch
- crawling

He is getting so big!

I promise I will get new pictures and videos up soon. Our external hard drive crashed the other day and Spike's buddy has been working really hard recovering and backing up all of our files. So pretty soon! Please be patient :-)

...and baby makes FOUR!

So since I've officially told work, I feel relieved to be able to FINALLY share our news with our readers :-)

Spike and I are expecting our second baby! I am due February 15, 2010! I am officially 9 weeks along on Sunday. We are so excited!! About 2 weeks ago I had an appointment with my doctor and she was able to see the baby's heartbeat! I forgot how special that was. I almost freaked out at the appointment because while she was doing the ultrasound she got quiet and seemed to be looking for something. After a few minutes I asked her what she was looking for. She goes, "well... I thought I might have seen something else..." and I'm like, "what do you mean!? Like another baby?!" She said yes but then said she was pretty sure it was just one baby because she couldn't reproduce the image she was seeing from any other angle... So hopefully its still just one baby when I go in again. My next appointment is the 1st week of August!

As soon as we found out, we looked into moving out of our house and finding a bigger one... well that's not going to happen. Because the market is so bad, we would be taking a $50K loss. Its either that or rent this house out and come up with 10% down on a new loan. So we've just decided to kill our debt and try really hard to get out of this house before baby #2 starts walking. Hopefully we can get it done.

When we told our families the news, we put Brock in a t-shirt that I made for him that said "Big Brother." It was hilarious because it took everyone longer than we thought to figure it out! It was great. Here's a picture of the t-shirt:

The little baby that could!

I have to try to get this on video tonight, but yesterday Brock was playing in his exersaucer while I was in the kitchen. Spike was with him in the living room. The next thing I know, spike starts screaming "oh my god! Larissa get in here!" so of course I frantically run into the other room and spike starts telling me that Brock pulled himself up and crawled out of the exersaucer! I didn't believe him because it was on the highest setting. So we put him back in it, and sure enough he did it again! It was the craziest thing!

Brock is a very determined baby. If he sees something he wants, he will crawl or climb over whatever is in his way to get it!

We have TEETH!!

I have to try to get a good picture of it but Brock has TWO teeth!! In the last two weeks, his two bottom teeth have finally broken through. Its so cute! Also in the last few days he has started self-feeding. I have a cute picture of him eating too. I know, I'm lame! I have to upload the pictures off the camera :-) OH! And he is pulling up on the furniture and walking along it :-) So look for new pictures and videos soon!!!
